2017 Resolutions and Typical Random Lottie Chit Chat – A happiness post

Hey! How ya doing? How’s your January going?? I hope you all had a wonderful new year and 2017 is thus far treating you grandly!!

So I always feel January’s a bit of a funny old time. As a MAHOOSIVE December and Christmas fan I am DEFINITELY always leaning more towards the side of those January blues… HOWEVER this year, I’m quite liking the idea of a fresh start in 2017! I mean it could be ever so slightly something to do with the 6 months out of uni WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE situation I currently have going on.. maybe… you know or not… who really knows. (it definitely is) haha! but yes, unlike usual, I am quite liking this whole new year thaaang.

I know a lot of people are against the whole ‘New Year, New Me’ bandwagon, and we should be able to start making positive changes whenever we want yada yada yada, but I feel there is definitely something in the New Year that just gives that little extra oomph of optimism!!

So I’m going to be honest with you, I was very excited when I started writing this blog. I really enjoyed writing my first few posts, choosing the theme designs and all the bloggy etceteras that go with it. But recently, I can’t help but feel I have slipped back into the stooopid old habit I always do… and that is thinking that everything is not good enough! Like, oh… maybe I shouldn’t be writing this blog because it’s not very adventurous, I don’t go anywhere that exciting, I can’t afford to go abroad anywhere yet, no one really cares about my little adventures,  I don’t really know what i’m doing or what i’m talking about blah blah blah. Aaaaaaalllll of that.

Then, after I was done throwing my little toddler tantrum I realized somewhere along the line that the reason I started doing it at all is because it was fun… it made me happy to write these posts… it was something i enjoyed…. huh…

SO if there is one resolution I VOW to keep this year (or try my very best to) it is to always, always, ALWAYS try to KEEP PERSPECTIVE! And do things BECAUSE THEY ARE FUN!! And that that is enough! Because they make me happy! Because they bring more joy into my life! This is something I all too often seem to forget, and not prioritize like I should, so this is definitely something that by the time 2018 rolls around I want to say I improved on, and spent more time doing. Prioritizing doing the things that make me happy, for no other reason that that! They make me happy!!

SO STORY TIME! The reason I am especially mulling over this today, and which has led to this rambley-ass post is because after quite a tiring week, finally my days off rolled around and yep. of course. I got the lurgy. yay. I’m talking sore throat, face swelled to the size of a small planet, nose gushing substances that would gross even Shrek out… and for someone as unable to stay in and sit still as me THIS. IS. NOT. MY. IDEAL!!

So I was sitting in bed this morning, to be honest feeling extremely grumpy at the fact that I didn’t feel at all well enough to go to the BEAAUUTIFUL place I had chosen to visit today for my next blog post when something  somewhere in the midst of my self absorbed self pity reminded me that the reason I started writing was because I found joy in it. It does make me happy to delve through my photos, pick my favorites and share them, talk about what i love. I mean that’s why anyone does anything they find joy and passion in right! because it makes them happy! and is there anything really people want more than that? to just be happy!

So as today I am stuck in bed wrapped in a thousand layers and couldn’t make the post i was planning, for you and for myself, I wanted to share with you an assortment of pictures that make me smile, and the whole reason I love photography and writing this blog to begin with. Photos are wonderful because in your low moments they create excitement and hope for exciting and amazing moments to come. I hope you like them! And ya know what? I feel happier already!

P.S  I love watching videos and reading articles about how other people find their daily inner happiness so if you fancy please leave me a comment with what makes YOU happy each day! Lots of love and happiness vibes! Always look for the good in each day, ESPECIALLY the crappy days!

I took this on summer holiday in Spain in August 2016, I would absolutely LOVE to be able to do some posts with photography from travels this year. I would find that SO exciting and is definitely on my 2017 dreams list!

It was so incredible to have this beautiful view each evening for 2 weeks. Moments like this feel so magical!

Happy Place

Every cloud has a silver lining 🙂

I love taking photos of flowers, especially in the summer when the colours look so vibrant in the sun!

I loved this little stone stairwell in the midst of a beautiful garden, so gorgeous and tranquil.

I didn’t have my DSLR with me for this shot hence the quality, I really wanted to get a picture of the butterfly on the flower and I was amazed it let me get this close to take the shot without flying away! I remember being so happy that it didn’t fly away and I was able to capture the shot!

This was taken at Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park, one of my favourite places to visit in the Summer! This photo evokes happy summer memories for me. I think of the warm sun and bright flowers blooming and the gentle hum of the bees!

Wisley Gardens in Surrey, one of my all time favourite places. I have been coming here since I was tiny and it is equally as magical and peaceful and beautiful as it was then. Actually probably more peaceful now me and my brother aren’t screaming crazy kids running amok there now! haha

Beautiful statues overlooking the pond

So peaceful

I have had so much fun starting to make this little blog last year, I hope I can fill it with lots and lots of exciting things and beautiful pictures this year!

Heading off on an adventure with my little pink adventure pack is always going to be a good day 🙂

Another sum up of my perfect day. Sun, being outdoors, fresh air, taking photos, free day, this was a very happy day. I think this was on the day I took the photos for my first post ‘A Very English Adventure!’ I hadn’t even planned to make them into a blog post yet!

Just how pink and pretty haha like a little bubblegum tree!

These two photos were from my ‘A Very English Adventure’ weekend, I didn’t add these to the actual post but I LOVE these two photos. They remind me so much of the lovely atmosphere of the villages with their oldy worldy buildings, houses and pubs. Just so quaint and cute I loved it there.

This is something I have been doing for years, every day writing down a list of things that I am thankful for/ things I appreciate having in my life, a good friend of mine bought me this really cute little diary for 2017 gratitude lists, I absolutely love it and it always makes me feel happier!!

These two shots are some of the first I took after getting my macro lens at the end of last year, it’s something I’ve loved to have had for ages and I’m super excited at getting some great macro shots especially when spring and summer come around!

This is the view from my bedroom window. I love living in the country side surrounded by nature. Whenever things get a bit too much I just go full dog in a car and stick my head out the window for a bit, it’s very calming!

If you have made it this far down (thanks!) I hope you have enjoyed this post despite it’s random rambleyness! I’d love to see the photos of things that make you happy too!!

I’ll be back sooon!

What makes us happy every day is the opportunity to get together in the evening after work to sit and chat. Talk about our day and discuss about our aspirations for the next journey.
    Great pictures by the way.
Only thing is why is your page – paging to the right so much?
